Before I call a girl for the first time, I’m usually feeling pretty nervous and excited, and I want to make sure that when I call her I have something to talk about. You see, women will be pretty excited once they realize it’s you, but you should expect to guide the conversation smoothly by having something to say (duh!) and by following with a question or two about her.
I suggest having something to say before you call her. This works best when you tell her where you are right now, or what you just witnessed on the street, or a movie you just watched; something that takes the conversation away from the fact that you’re calling her for the first time, and makes it feel like she’s talking to someone she already knows. Once you’ve riffed for a while on a topic or two, you can turn the conversation over to her with basic questions, such as:
- How was your day?
- What did you do this weekend?
- Did you hear about (current event)?
From there, you can get her to expand on whatever she says with “Really?”, or “Tell me more about that.” The trick is saying one of these two things and shutting your mouth. She will normally make it easy for you after that.
After you’ve chatted for up to around 10 minutes, tops, I would suggest you close out and set up
the date. You should have an idea of what day and where you want to go before you call her.
I suggest asking “What’s your schedule like for this week?” That way
you’ll find out when she’s available. Then you’ll have a couple of options ready, such as meeting for a drink on a Wednesday evening or meeting at the park on a Sunday afternoon, and she’ll be able to give you an idea of what she wants to do.
Then it’s as simple as telling her you’ll call her that day, and
you’re looking forward to meeting her. Sounds simple right? Well, it is. Just stay positive, and if you’re feeling really nervous or you need some extra help, then consider reviewing my video tips that cover this precise topic.
